Existing Problems in China Grain Processing Industry

During the rapid development period, what are the existing problems in China grain processing industry?
 

First, the raw material for domestic grain processing industry lacks stability. In China, the GRAIN PROCESSING INDUSTRY still stays in the stage of gap filling. The problem of dispersive planting areas and unstable yield still restricts grain processing industry development. In addition, there has less information communication between production and business system, which may easily cause blindness in production and sales. Once the goods has short supply, then the price will rise rapidly and people may rush to purchase. In many areas, grain production just stays in the self-sufficiency state, and has very low commodity rate.
 

Second, the proportion for grain deep processing is still low. We can process grain into various kinds of grain food, which has much higher economic benefits than unprocessed grains. In our country, grain is mostly used to produce feedstuff, alcohol and so on. This is not only unscientific, but also has low economic benefits. And grain may encounter poor sales and has less value in the farmers’ hands.
 

The unprocessed grain has large quantity of export in our country, but the deep-processing products have almost no any export. Taking the beans as an example, beans export has some competitive advantages in the international market, but it contains very low scientific content and we have very less bean deep-processing products for export. Therefore, it is really a pity that our grain processing industry and products should have had added value for grain deep-processing.
 

In the end, there still has large improvement potential for grain processing technology. According to the rough estimates, in 2008, there were no more than 3000 grain processing enterprises. And it lacks famous brands in grain processing industry. Lack of deep-processing products and low grain processing industrialization are still the common problems existing in grain processing industry.
