Corn may be mixed with different impurities, especially metal objects, such as iron nail, screw, gasket, nut from harvesting to processing. If we don’t remove the impurities in time, they may destroy grain processing equipment seriously, even crash the machine or cause dust explosion.
Besides, in grain processing, due to the grain processing equipment wear or oxidation, it may generate some metal chips or powder, which is harmful to human health if mixed into the end products.
Qualified magnetic separation device in grain processing can remove more than 95% of metal impurities. It can improve the quality of the corn products by cleaning section.
The outer cylinder of magnetic separator is welded by stainless steel sheets, and is precise, flat and beautiful. There are several factors we should notice in magnetic separator operation and maintenance:
1) Remove the magnetic impurities on the magnetic pole surface to avoid too much magnetic impurities accumulating. It is better to clean it twice for each shift.
2) It is prohibited to strike, knock, rub or heat the magnetic steel in installation, usage and carriage. When it is not in use for a long time, we should cover a protection iron plate on the magnetic pole surface, which can lock the tow magnetic poles and protect the magnetism of the magnetic steel.
3) The magnetic steel cannot be directly installed on the iron stand or iron sheet elephant trunk to avoid magnetism disappearance. And the demagnetized magnet should be changed or sent to the professional factory for magnetizing.
4) The flow should keep uniform in production. It cannot be too large or too small, which may affect magnetic separation effect.
5) When we arrange the magnet, we should arrange the magnet homopolarity together(like S-S, N-N). To avoid the mutual repulsion of the homopolarity, we can use paper between the two poles for separation.
