Several Problems Existing in Bean Processing Industry

BEAN PROCESSING INDUSTRY is developing rapidly. But there still exist some problems, such as unstable bean quality, small bean processing scale, backward bean processing level and weak innovation ability.

First of all, the raw material for domestic bean processing industry lacks stability. In China, the bean processing industry still stays in the stage of gap filling. The problem of dispersive planting areas and unstable yield still restricts bean processing industry development. In addition, there has less information communication between production and business system, which may easily cause blindness in production and sales. Once the goods has short supply, then the price will rise rapidly and people may rush to purchase. In many areas, grain production just stays in the self-sufficiency state, and has very low commodity rate.

Next, the proportion for bean processing industry is still low. We can process bean into various kinds of bean food, which has much higher economic benefits than unprocessed beans. In our country, bean is mostly used to produce feedstuff, alcohol and so on. This is not only unscientific, but also has low economic benefits. And grain may encounter poor sales and has less value in the farmers’ hands.

There are large quantity of unprocessed beans for export in our country, but the deep-processing products have almost no any export. Beans export has some competitive advantages in the international market, but it contains very low scientific content and we have very less bean deep-processing products for export. Therefore, it is really a pity that our bean processing industry and products should have had added value for grain deep-processing.

In the end, there still has large improvement potential for bean processing industry technology. According to the rough estimates, in 2008, there were no more than 3000 grain processing enterprises. And it lacks famous brands in bean processing industry. Lack of deep-processing products and low grain processing industrialization are still the common problems existing in bean processing industry.
