Naked oat flaker or naked oats processing plant technological process:
Naked oat— cleaning— oat milling—washing—spin-drying— enzyme deactivation and thermal treatment— sized dicing—steaming—flaking—drying and cooling—packaging—end products
This process can produce quick cooking oat flakes and instant oatmeal. The difference is that the instant oatmeal needs more time in enzyme deactivation and thermal treatment, and the starch gelatinization degree is higher, besides, the flakes are much thinner. Therefore, it is much easier to mix the flakes with water.
The important oat flaking section is finished by the double-roller oat flakes machine. The thickness of the flakes is controlled at about 0.5mm. Too thick flakes need more boiling time and too thin flakes are easily smashed into pieces.
